Strategic Partnerships, Global Engagements & Ecosystem Activities

Madar Altahawul has obtained membership in the Saudi-Chinese Business Council for the current term 2022-2026, affirming its commitment to expanding its international partnerships, especially with China in the fields of import, investment, and innovation. The membership focuses on supporting Madar Altahawul’s activities through its projects such as “Coffee Trading Services Center” and “COFDAR,” and enhancing commercial cooperation with Chinese partners in line with Saudi Vision 2030.

Bandar Alotaibi, CEO of Madar Al-Tahawul and Head of the Coffee Trading Services Center, has released his new book titled "Roasting Professional", making it one of the first Arabic-language books to specialize in coffee roasting from a comprehensive professional perspective that combines science and practice.

The book serves as a specialized reference targeting practitioners in the coffee sector—particularly those working in roasteries and supply chains. It offers scientific and practical content covering the stages of roasting, its tools, chemical reactions, and sensory evaluation techniques, along with simplified recipes for beginners and a technical glossary of terms.

The book was published through the Samawy digital publishing platform and is considered one of the key achievements of the Coffee Trading Services Center under Madar Al-Tahawul. It has been officially listed as part of the center’s knowledge services offered to support the coffee community in Saudi Arabia and the wider region.

This publication reflects Bandar Al-Otaibi’s extensive experience of over 12 years—since 2012—in leading and developing the coffee industry, supported by his academic background in international business and human resources. Alotaibi emphasized that the book aims to equip practitioners with precise, applicable tools and knowledge, while also contributing to the advancement of professional Arabic content in this field.

Over the past period, the executive management of Madar Altahawul held several strategic meetings that resulted in multiple agreements and understandings with leading local and international companies in the coffee sector. This step comes as part of Madar Altahawul’s efforts to strengthen its leading position in the coffee trade industry and support the expansion of its digital platforms into new markets.

Riyadh – Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Madar Al-Tahawul is participating as part of the Saudi business delegation traveling to the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, during the period 17–19 November 2025, to take part in the Saudi–Ethiopian Business Forum, which aims to strengthen economic partnerships between the two countries and open new horizons for trade and investment cooperation.

Madar Al-Tahawul is represented in this delegation by Mr. Mohammed Al-Zahrani – Business Director, where he will hold several direct meetings with the entities participating in the forum, as part of efforts to enhance communication and build relationships with companies and institutions in Ethiopia.

This participation comes in line with the directives of our wise leadership – may God preserve it – aimed at supporting international economic relations and enabling the Saudi private sector to expand globally and explore opportunities in friendly markets.

Mr. Bandar Al-Otaibi – Member of the Board of Directors at Madar Al-Tahawul – expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Saudi–Ethiopian Business Council for its great efforts in organization and coordination. He also praised the effective role played by the Council’s Chairman, Mr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Ajmi, and the Vice Chairman, Mr. Omar bin Abdullah Al-Kharashi, in addition to extending thanks to the Council’s Secretary-General, Mr. Aedh Al-Wadei, for his continuous cooperation and support in ensuring the success of the delegation’s participation.

Al-Otaibi affirmed that Madar Al-Tahawul’s participation comes as part of its commitment to strengthening its international presence and building strong ties with partners in Ethiopia, noting that the forum represents an important opportunity for direct engagement and for enhancing economic relations between the two countries.

Al-Otaibi concluded his statement by emphasizing that Madar Al-Tahawul looks forward to this visit contributing to the establishment of fruitful relationships and paving the way for future cooperation opportunities that serve the mutual interests of both sides.

Madar Al-Tahawul announces its official accession to the General Membership of the Saudi–Ethiopian Business Council under the umbrella of the Federation of Saudi Chambers. This strategic step strengthens the company’s institutional presence in one of the most dynamic and growing economic corridors between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. It also marks a significant milestone in the company’s journey toward establishing an influential international footprint within coffee-producing and agricultural markets.

This achievement builds upon a journey of success that, after the grace of God, has been driven by the ambitious economic transformation taking place in our nation under the wise leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, may God preserve them. Their clear vision and supportive business environment have enabled the private sector to grow, expand, and engage in international partnerships aligned with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

Joining the council strengthens Madar Al-Tahawul’s efforts to develop an integrated ecosystem that connects farms and exporters in producing countries with Saudi companies, roasteries, and local markets. Through advanced digital and operational solutions, this ecosystem enhances purchasing efficiency, improves supply-chain quality, and increases transparency across all stages of sourcing.

Madar Al-Tahawul’s presence within the council enables broader participation in economic discussions and a deeper understanding of governmental and sectoral directions in both countries. This contributes to building direct partnerships with official entities and companies involved in exporting coffee and agricultural products, at a time when the global coffee sector is experiencing rapid growth and increasing interest from Saudi and regional markets.

The Board of Directors at Madar Al-Tahawul played a key role in supporting this direction. Bandar Alotaibi emphasized the importance of building an international presence that reinforces the organization’s vision and supports its expansion. Mohammed Alzahrani noted that this membership marks a new phase toward stronger relationships with exporters in Ethiopia and global coffee markets, enhancing the company’s ability to expand its initiatives in sourcing and digital services.

Madar Al-Tahawul continues its efforts to evolve into a comprehensive platform for green coffee trade through its digital solutions and operational services. The company aims to enhance the competitiveness of Saudi businesses and support their expansion into international markets in a sustainable manner that reflects the capabilities and future direction of the Saudi coffee sector.

Riyadh – Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Madar Al-Tahawul announced that it has received an official invitation from the Brazilian Confederation of Agriculture and Livestock (CNA) to participate in the “Business Round” trade meetings as part of World of Coffee Dubai 2026, taking place in Dubai from 18 to 20 January 2026.

This invitation is part of a business matchmaking program bringing together a select group of Brazilian producers, opening a direct channel for international sourcing discussions and reflecting Madar Al-Tahawul’s accelerated efforts to expand its global network of green coffee origins. Madar Al-Tahawul was represented in this participation by Board Member Mohammed Al Zahrani through an organized schedule of meetings, aligned with the organization’s direction to develop more efficient and reliable sourcing arrangements for the Saudi and regional markets.

Bandar Al Otaibi, Board Member, stated that this participation represents a step within a fast-moving international track led by Madar Al-Tahawul, based on a model centered on direct purchasing and import program management, with operational execution inside the Kingdom carried out through its arm, Cofdar.

In a new step within Madar Al-Tahawul’s direction to build more specialized and transparent sourcing channels in the coffee sector, collaboration has begun with Campo Hermoso Farm in Quindío, Colombia, to make a selected batch of Colombian microlot coffees available through Cofdar Direct.

This collaboration is marked by work on the farm’s second batch of the year, featuring a limited selection of green coffee lots with special processing methods based on mossto and co-fermentation. These coffees are designed for roasteries seeking seasonal products with a clear origin, a real story, and a distinctive sensory identity.

This batch stands out for the diversity of its fruity profiles, high scores, and limited availability, making it well suited for roasteries seeking to offer their customers a distinctive seasonal release without the complexities of individual importing or the need to commit to large quantities of a single lot.

Through Cofdar Direct, Madar Al-Tahawul is working to make specialty farm sourcing more accessible and flexible for roasteries. The process starts with suitable order quantities and supports roasteries in accessing distinctive coffee origins, while Cofdar handles coordination, shipping, customs clearance, and the connection between the source and buyers within Saudi Arabia.

This collaboration represents an extension of Madar Al-Tahawul’s vision to develop practical solutions for coffee trading, connecting the Saudi market with distinctive farms and producers around the world, while giving roasteries greater ability to build seasonal products with higher commercial and sensory value.

Through this collaboration, Madar Al-Tahawul continues, through Cofdar Direct, to build a specialized sourcing model that connects roasteries with distinctive production origins, transforming green coffee purchasing from a complex process into a clearer, more flexible seasonal opportunity with higher commercial value.

In a new step that reflects its direction toward building specialized digital projects with practical value, Madar Altahawul announced the launch of the Cofdar Interactive Coffee Flavor Map, an innovative tool developed by Cofdar to provide an Arabic experience that helps roasters, baristas, and coffee enthusiasts understand flavors, explore their families, and build a more accurate and professional description of a coffee flavor profile.

This tool comes as part of Madar Altahawul’s path in developing knowledge-based solutions and tools that serve business sectors, including the coffee sector. Through Cofdar, Madar Altahawul is working to move beyond the concept of a traditional commercial platform and toward building an ecosystem that brings together knowledge, tools, and supply chains.

The Cofdar Interactive Coffee Flavor Map offers a rich experience that combines exploration, learning, training, and description building. It features a broad classification of flavor families, interactive filters, and a description builder that helps roasters create clearer and more professional descriptions for their products, web pages, and packaging.

Through this launch, Madar Altahawul affirms that real development does not stop at launching platforms; it extends to building practical tools that raise market quality and provide professionals with better ways to understand, communicate, and make informed decisions.

This step is an extension of the daily momentum Cofdar is witnessing in developing its services and digital experience, while strengthening its presence as a specialized platform that serves the coffee business sector in a practical and continuously evolving manner.
